The country winner will be competing with 34 countries worldwide to become Global Champion of WCCS 2024.

 WCS or World Cosplay Summit is focus on the development of Hand crafted costume and skit performance in terms of its originality and creativity.

World Cinematic Cosplay Summit or WCCS is the video division of WCS. The key focus on WCCS is on cinematic and storytelling in the form of a video production

    • Registration Period: 12th January 2024 – 29th February 2024

    • Video Submission Dateline. 31st March 2024

    • Result: 7th April 2024

Any Pair (Duo) Cosplayers who feels they are up to the challenge as long as they are native Malaysian or a permanent resident of Malaysia. Entries for between 13 to 17 years old will require a parental consent.

There is a process/registration charge of RM 48.00 per team.

Yes. You can source your costume and accessories from shop purchase or commissioned orders.

Yes you can include 3rd party help in terms of technical support as well as extras as long as it is kept to minimum.

Yes, as long as you mention all 3rd party persons involved in the production

You are limited to only to costumes representing characters from anime, manga, video games and tokusatsu published by a Japanese company or IP.

You are required to participate as a pair/Duo.

No. You will need to have the same source of costume. Cross-over costumes are not allowed.

There are no limits to your creativity except that you are to abide by the limitations and safety rules provided on sign up. Adhere to the sensibility of cultural sensitivity and age in Malaysia.

a. From WCS JP Office. The Global Champion will be invited to WCS 2024 in Nagoya, Japan in August 24.

WCCS judges are selected from past WCS Alumni of Champions, WCSMAP members as well as recognized industry persona vetted by WCCS MY. There will be 10 Professional Judges and 2 Observers with high power credential.

Yes. The following is required:

    1. Final Video submission max 2mins 30s (150s).
    2. Script including synopsis, spoken lines and time stamp. No hard-coded subtitles.
    3. References of images for costumes, pictures of the costumes, wig, make-up and accessories (front and back)
    4. sources of videos, effects, animations and pictures.
    5. All files pertaining to use of music, sound effects, along with copyrights/license information.
    6. Names of all 3rd party persons involved in the production.

Your official video is not allowed to be posted before announcements. However, your BTS video is permitted, but please be aware that it will be at your own discretion in terms of gaining a competitive advantage.

Yes you can use in-studio 3D animation on edit.

a. Winners of past WCS MY who is still on cool-down period of 24 months.
b. Applications to WCCS 24 who is deemed breach of code of conduct by our appointed observers.

Yes, you can. As long as you are a Malaysian citizen or a long term resident (e.g. Working in Malaysia or permanent resident) you can participate & represent Malaysia.

While the registration deadline is 29th February 2024, it is not recommended to register at the last minute. We advise registering first, as we will vet through your submission details to ensure that all video ideas are compliant.

No, video submissions must not be pre-existing or publicly exposed before the competition. They need to be original and specifically created for WCCS MY 2024 and WCCS Japan only.
