The winner of 2025 National Championship includes RM2000 prize, an all expense paid trip to Nagoya, Japan to represent Malaysia on an international stage.
There will also be a RM1000 prize for the Best Performance and the Best Costume respectively.

The World Cosplay Summit is a team competition, and each team must consist of 2 members. To participate, teams must be selected by their country’s official WCS representative or through a preliminary round. Each team must present a cosplay performance on stage, and they will be judged based on craftsmanship, performance, and faithfulness to the original character.
The performance is up to you! Dancing, singing, action, comedy… express yourself however you want to!

You are given 2 minutes and 30 seconds to perform. Do your best!
No. Only native Malaysian or a permanent resident of Malaysia with a valid ID can join.
The two team members must participate as characters from the same Japanese manga, anime, game, or live-action series for their Championship Costumes.
- Doujins and fan works are not allowed.
- For games, the characters must originate from Japan.
(For example, even if the animation was made in Japan, it is not allowed if the characters are Disney or Star Wars based.) - Light novels are allowed if there is a published anime or manga.
- Cross overs are allowed if the works are related.
(For example, characters from Magical Circle Guru Guru and Magical Circle Guru Guru 2 can participate together)
Yes. To ensure that the WCS Malaysia can provide the best possible experience for all participants, a registration fee of RM200 per team is requested. This fee will help build & improve our event and prevent no-shows/absentees from happening. (No Refunds)

Your official video is not allowed to be posted before announcements. However, your BTS video is permitted, but please be aware that it will be at your own discretion in terms of gaining a competitive advantage.
World Cosplay Summit Malaysia has always been an exclusive and premier event for the local Malaysian cosplay and sub-culture scene.
The “World Cosplay Summit (WCS)” was created to promote international exchange through the Japanese youth culture of manga and anime. The free and dynamic nature of manga was instrumental in the birth of cosplay. Nowadays youth from around the world find this as a common language and a dynamic new form of global interaction.
The World Cosplay Summit began in Osu, Nagoya and has grown to include more than 36 countries from around the world. If you count audience and participants at each preliminary event, the number of people involved is now in the 200s of thousands.
